卡特彼勒柴油機后面上有兩個增壓器，增壓器透平與排氣支管相連接，增壓器壓氣機與中冷器連接。

如果高的空載轉速或噴油量大于給定噴油量(相對于卡特彼勒柴油機工作在某一海拔高度)，可能損壞卡特彼勒柴油機或增壓器零件，由于卡特彼勒柴油機輸出更高，超過了卡特彼勒柴油機冷卻和潤滑系統(tǒng)能力，當熱量和／或摩擦增加時將發(fā)生破壞。試驗適合的機器是唯一的，就是進行燃油里和高的空載轉速的調(diào)整。

增壓器軸承(５和７)應用卡特彼勒柴油機油在壓力作用下進行潤滑，機油通過油入口(６)進入，流經(jīng)中心通道潤滑軸承，而后機油從出口(１１)流出返回到油槽。
